Florida Eels uses early goal to top Springfield, 4-2

Brian Dennerlein gave Florida Eels the lead in the first period, and the Springfield Pics was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2.

Florida Eels took over the lead for good with a goal by Dennerlein at 21:55 in the first period. Florida Eels was on a disadvantage when Daniel Boyd went off the ice for elbowing. Max Mazzullo provided the assist.

Florida Eels' penalty kill excelled, as Florida Eels gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Springfield's Ian Milosz could not handle what Florida Eels threw at him, as Florida Eels netted its goals off of nine.

Florida Eels also got points from Reid Halabi, who also had one goal and one assist and Jonathan Carlson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Joshua DeLezenne also scored for Florida Eels. Other players who recorded assists for Florida Eels were Brandon Hotaling, who had one.

The Pics excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Springfield kept Florida Eels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Terriault made 30 saves on 32 shots.

The Pics were led by Thane Schinabeck, who registered one goal and one assist. Schinabeck scored on the power play 16:36 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Springfield earned a power play opportunity when Halabi was put in the box for interference. William Carrabino picked up the assist. Springfield also got a goal from Stefan Koproske as well. More assists for Springfield came via Riley Green and Mario Fontanella, who each chipped in one.

Florida Eels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Milosz recorded five saves for the Pics. Springfield incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
