NY AppleCore blows out Connecticut, 8-0

The NY AppleCore Minor B were firing on all cylinders against the Connecticut Oilers, and when the final buzzer sounded Minor B emerged with an 8-0 win.

NY AppleCore was led by Robert DeLury, who had one goal and one assist. DeLury scored 2:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NY AppleCore. James Sharpe provided the assist.

The Minor B's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Connecticut power plays. NY AppleCore's defensive play was more effective than usual against Connecticut. The Minor B allow 2.3 goals per game. NY AppleCore's offense rang up 43 shots on the Oilers' net. The Minor B surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, NY AppleCore averages 3.7 goals per contest. The Minor B's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. NY AppleCore's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Minor B finished with 26 penalty minutes.

NY AppleCore additionally got points from Andrew DeAngelis, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Sharpe, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Jonas Toupal, who also registered two goals and one assist. NY AppleCore also got a goal from Michael Consolato as well. More assists for NY AppleCore came via Harrison Jacobs, who had two, Brian Birbrayer, who had three, and Michael Rodriguez, Nolan Pues, Liam Pues, Justin Kapelmaster, and Nicolas Jasmin, who each chipped in one.

Connecticut could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Oilers average 2.6 goals per game.

NY AppleCore's Kapelmaster stopped 16 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Minor B registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Millendorf rejected 35 shots on goal for Connecticut. The Oilers ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
