Jersey Wildcats vanquishes NY AppleCore in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Jersey Wildcats defeated the NY AppleCore Minor B in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured two attempts between both teams.

Jersey Wildcats overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Jersey Wildcats was down 3-2 after a goal by NY AppleCore's Cale Schoenberg at 15:48 in the third period. Jersey Wildcats tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Max Vorob at 17:34 in the third period.

Jersey Wildcats was helped by Zakariya Sheikh, who tallied one goal. Sheikh scored 12:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Vorob assisted on the tally. Jersey Wildcats additionally got points from Vorob, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Erik Andersson as well. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Christopher Sanchez, John Buckley, John Wollmuth, Ryan Strapp, and Lucas Moser, who each chipped in one.

The Minor B forced Jersey Wildcats goalie Grant Perry to work between the pipes, taking 66 shots.

NY AppleCore was helped by Kevin T Miller, who registered one goal. Miller scored 12:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 NY AppleCore. Nicolas Jasmin picked up the assist. NY AppleCore also got points from Jonas Toupal, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for NY AppleCore came via Jonathan Kaszuba and Robert DeLury, who contributed one a piece.

Perry recorded 63 saves for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Minor B's Christoph Mutschin stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. NY AppleCore incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
