Mandigo nets hat trick, leads New Hampshire to 8-1 win over Valley

Ross Mandigo lifted the New Hampshire Jr Monarchs to an 8-1 victory with a hat trick against the Valley Junior Warriors.

Mandigo notched his first tally 10:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:47 into the second and at 19:29 into the second.

New Hampshire forced Valley goalie Matthew Saraceno to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

New Hampshire additionally got points from Shane Tracy, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Christopher Moquin, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Brett Boyer, who also tallied one goal and three assists. New Hampshire also got a goal from Nate OBrien as well. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire were Daniel Nolte, who had two, Connor Merrick, who had three, and Eric Grover and Nate Philbrick, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Warriors' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Valley finished with 18 penalty minutes.

The Junior Warriors were led by Brendan Heinze, who scored the team's only goal. Heinze scored on the power play 13:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Valley had gotten the advantage when the Jr Monarchs' Grover was sent off for tripping. Brendan Philippon assisted on the tally.

Cole Burack recorded 19 saves for New Hampshire. The Jr Monarchs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matthew Saraceno made 40 saves for the Junior Warriors on 48 shots. Valley registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
