Christoph Mutschin recorded a shutout against the Frederick Freeze as the NY AppleCore Minor B picked up a 2-0 win.

NY AppleCore was paced by Jonathan Kaszuba, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kaszuba scored 11:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 NY AppleCore. Andrew DeAngelis assisted on the tally.

The Minor B put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Frederick to score on any of its three power plays. NY AppleCore's defense was surprisingly good. The Minor B average 2.2 goals allowed per game. NY AppleCore kept the Freeze's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Dolliver made 38 saves on 40 shots.

NY AppleCore also got points from DeAngelis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for NY AppleCore were Blake Manginell, who had two.

Frederick was held below its usual level of production. The Freeze average 4.0 goals per game. The Minor B were unable to stop Frederick from sending pucks towards the net, and the Freeze eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Mutschin recorded 36 saves for NY AppleCore. The Minor B totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Frederick ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
