Horn's big game bests Palm Beach in 6-3 Space Coast win

Chase Horn was all over the ice for the Space Coast Hurricanes, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Space Coast's 6-3 win over the Palm Beach Hawks.

Horn got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:44 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Space Coast. Brian Clare assisted on the tally. Horn dished an assist on Dylan Lincoln's goal that made the score 2-1 Palm Beach at 8:48 into the first period. He added another helper on Benjamin Ferreira's goal that made the score 6-3 Space Coast at 8:41 into the third period.

The Hurricanes' Nicholas Wayland was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Wayland will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.74 entering the contest.

Palm Beach's power play was ineffective against Space Coast's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Hurricanes made the Hawks' netminders to work between the pipes, firing 46 shots and forcing 40 saves. Stephen Sundberg made 40 stops and Adam Silverstein made zero. Space Coast could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Space Coast additionally got points from Clare, who also had one goal and one assist, Mitchell Zampetti, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Lincoln, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Space Coast also got a goal from Alec Waszczenko as well. In addition, Space Coast received assists from Nathaniel Grugin, who had one and Brian Hurley, who had two.

Palm Beach was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 17 penalty minutes. The Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Palm Beach's offense rang up 46 shots on the Hurricanes' net.

The Hawks were led by Mason Brinich, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Brinich scored 5:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Palm Beach. Axel Dressell also scored for Palm Beach. Other players who recorded assists for Palm Beach were Shane Visnick, who had one and Anthony Lerette, who had two.

Space Coast registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
