The Helena Bighorns' Ben Henne scored 1:45 into overtime to beat the Gillette Wild, 4-3 (OT).

Helena overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bighorns was down 3-1 after a power play goal by Gillette's Trent Dillinger at 9:38 in the second period. Helena tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Corbin Belling at 18:58 in the third period.

The Bighorns were sparked by Henne, who registered one goal.

Helena was held below its usual level of production. The Bighorns put an average of 6.8 pucks into the net per game. Helena kept the Wild's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Kelley made 71 saves on 75 shots.

Dillon Mershon also scored for Helena. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Christian Axelson, who had two and Brandon Rumble, Dylan Canoy, Dylan Webster, and Jett Salinas, who contributed one a piece.

Gillette forced the Bighorns goalie Salinas to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots.

The Wild were helped by Tyler Cavan, who grabbed one goal. Cavan scored on the power play 7:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Gillette. Gillette had taken the advantage when Helena's Mark Williams got sent off for roughing. Dillinger provided the assist. Gillette additionally got points from Dillinger, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Gillette also got a goal from Taylor Motsinger as well. More assists for Gillette came via Steve Patafio, who had two and Moco Willis and Tyler Johnson, who each chipped in one.

Salinas recorded 53 saves for the Bighorns. Helena incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Wild incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
