Dillinger leads Gillette over Great Falls, 8-2

Trent Dillinger had two goals and three assists to lead the Gillette Wild to an 8-2 victory over the Great Falls Americans.

Dillinger found the back of the net 7:40 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 15:33 into the second to make the score 4-2 Gillette.

Gillette's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Great Falls power plays. Great Falls was unable to stop the Wild from sending pucks towards the net, and Gillette eventually piled up 56 shots on goal. The Wild found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Gillette averages 4.7 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Gillette also got points from Taylor Motsinger, who also had one goal and one assist, Boris Knyazev, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tyler Cavan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Gillette included Ronnie Wilshusen, who had one and Moco Willis, who had two. More assists for Gillette came via Tyler Johnson, who had three and Steve Patafio and Adam Pecht, who each chipped in one.

The Americans' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Great Falls finished with 34 penalty minutes.

The Americans were helped by Connor Barta, who grabbed one goal. Barta scored 15:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Garton assisted on the tally. Daniil Kulikov also scored for Great Falls.

Nick Vittori recorded 18 saves for the Wild. Gillette incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Evan Hauser made 48 saves for Great Falls on 56 shots.
