Splichal leads Yellowstone over Missoula, 6-3Glacier Ice Rink Sat, Jan 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Yellowstone Quake's George Splichal had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Missoula Maulers. Splichal's tallies came at 19:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Yellowstone and 2:58 into the second to make the score 3-0 Yellowstone.Yellowstone pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. Yellowstone also got points from Josh Neumann, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Yellowstone also had goals scored by Orri Haman, who had one and Michael Berens, who had two. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Anthony Leong, who had one and Jimmy Tich and Sam Basich, who contributed two a piece. Missoula put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Quake to score on any of their three power plays. The Maulers were led by Paigg Maul, who grabbed one goal. Maul scored 10:34 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Yellowstone. Anders Nord assisted on the tally. Joey Sundgren also scored for Missoula. Other players who recorded assists for Missoula were Tyler Zandhuisen, Zach Paisley, Donovan Mattfeldt, and Will Stawinski, who each chipped in one. Jared Schletty made 24 saves for Yellowstone on 27 shots. Mckinlee Baum rejected 20 shots on goal for Missoula. The Maulers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
