Baum leads Missoula to shutout victory over Great FallsGlacier Ice Rink Sun, Jan 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Mckinlee Baum recorded a shutout against the Great Falls Americans as the Missoula Maulers picked up a 3-0 win. Missoula was led by Anders Nord, who finished with one goal and one assist. Nord scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Missoula. Zach Paisley picked up the assist. The Maulers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Great Falls to score on any of its four power plays. Missoula forced the Americans goalie Evan Hauser to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Missoula additionally got points from Brett Mathews, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Missoula also got a goal from Viktor Steenson as well. More assists for Missoula came via Jordan Wheatley and Matt Chamberlain, who each chipped in one. Great Falls could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Americans average 2.6 goals per game. Baum rejected 27 shots on goal for the Maulers. Missoula totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Great Falls' Hauser stopped 40 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Americans ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major.
