Helena rolls over Billings, 4-1

The Billings Bulls had trouble finding ways to stop the Helena Bighorns, which beat Bulls, 4-1.

Billings was stymied by Helena netminder Jett Salinas, who stopped 38 shots during the victory. The solid play of Salinas will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.11.

The Bighorns were sparked by Kyle Baker, who finished with one goal. Baker scored 13:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Christian Axelson picked up the assist.

Helena's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Billings power plays. The Bighorns were held below their usual level of production. Helena averages 6.9 goals per game. The Bulls were unable to stop the Bighorns from sending pucks towards the net, and Helena eventually piled up 69 shots on goal.

Helena also got a goal from Corbin Belling as well. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Brandon Rumble, Wyatt Winfield, and Logan Henne, who contributed one a piece.

Billings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Bulls' offense rang up 39 shots on the Bighorns' net.

Billings was led by Nik Nasby, who scored the team's only goal. Nasby scored 5:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Billings. Luke Bing assisted on the tally.

Helena incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Nic Wackerly made 65 saves for the Bulls on 69 shots. Billings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
