Gillette blows out Bozeman, 11-3

The Bozeman Icedogs had trouble finding ways to stop the Gillette Wild, which beat Icedogs, 11-3.

Boris Knyazev had one goal and three assists to lead Gillette. Knyazev scored 11:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gillette. Trent Dillinger picked up the assist.

The Wild made Bozeman's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 62 shots and forcing 51 saves. Jude Hall made 14 stops and John Shavic made 37. Gillette excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Wild found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Gillette has scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Gillette additionally got points from Blake Reynolds, who also had one goal and one assist, Dillinger, who also tallied two goals and two assists, Taylor Motsinger, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Tyler Johnson, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Alex King, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Gillette included Tyler Cavan, who had two and Matt Rose and Darren Banks, who each put in one. In addition, Gillette received assists from Adam Pecht, who had three and Steve Patafio and Brandon Miller, who contributed one a piece.

The Icedogs were helped by Brett Barezewski, who tallied one goal and one assist. Barezewski scored 3:33 into the third period to make the score 9-2 Gillette. Jesse Game assisted on the tally. Bozeman also got points from Steven Nisbet, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Bozeman also got a goal from Joe Dixon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Jake Nelson, who had one.

Sean Kelley made four saves before being replaced by Brandon Kruckenberg, who took the win and made 16 saves. The Wild incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Bozeman ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major.
