The Helena Bighorns were firing on all cylinders against the Gillette Wild, and when the final buzzer sounded Bighorns emerged with an 8-1 win.

Helena was sparked by Kyle Baker, who had one goal. Baker scored 16:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Helena. Cody Blom assisted on the tally.

The Bighorns made Gillette's goalies to work in net, racking up 63 shots and forcing 55 saves. Brandon Kruckenberg made 36 stops and Nick Vittori made 19.

Helena also got points from Theo Campe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Christian Axelson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Parker Olson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Ben Henne, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Blom, who also had one goal and one assist. Helena also got a goal from Corbin Belling as well. In addition, Helena received assists from Brandon Rumble, Dylan Webster, and Ben Henry, who each chipped in one and Logan Hawgood, John Petersson, and Kevin Choi, who contributed two a piece.

The Wild were held below their usual level of production. Gillette averages 4.8 goals per game.

Alex King also scored for Gillette. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Tyson Loundagin, who had one.

Jett Salinas recorded 21 saves for Helena. The Bighorns incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Wild incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
