Yellowstone blows out Bozeman, 8-0

The Yellowstone Quake had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-0 win over the Bozeman Icedogs.

Bryan Standly had a great game for Yellowstone, netting two goals. Standly scored at 4:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone and again while 2:30 into the third to make the score 8-0 Yellowstone.

The Quake's penalty kill excelled, as Yellowstone gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Quake stifled Bozeman's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Yellowstone's offense rang up 67 shots on the Icedogs' net. The Quake bested their season scoring average. Yellowstone has scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Yellowstone additionally got points from Tommy Toohey, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Sam Basich, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Yellowstone also got a goal from Chris Andre as well. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Anthony Leong, Kyle Sandera, James Pyle, Jimmy Tich, and Mitchell Fehd, who each chipped in one and George Splichal, Orri Haman, and Josh Neumann, who contributed two a piece.

Bozeman put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Quake to score on any of their four power plays.

Trevor Zangs made 23 saves for Yellowstone on 23 shots. The Quake ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Yellowstone, Brandon Busse was ejected from the game. John Shavic recorded 59 saves for the Icedogs. Bozeman incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
