Jordan Wheatley netted a hat trick to lead the Missoula Maulers over the Bozeman Icedogs, 8-0. Wheatley notched his first tally 5:45 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:32 into the first and at 15:50 into the second.Missoula led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after. The Maulers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Missoula forced Bozeman goalie Jude Hall to work between the pipes, taking 76 shots. The Maulers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Missoula has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Missoula additionally got points from Paigg Maul, who also registered one goal and one assist, Donovan Mattfeldt, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Brock Brothers, who also registered one goal and two assists. Missoula also got a goal from Zach Paisley as well. More assists for Missoula came via Brett Mathews, who had two and Tyler Zandhuisen, Dylan Chase, Joey Sundgren, Michael Cummings, Viktor Steenson, and Matt Chamberlain, who contributed one a piece. The Icedogs found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against the Maulers' defense. Mckinlee Baum recorded 12 saves for Missoula. The Maulers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hall rejected 68 shots on goal for Bozeman. The Icedogs ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
