Billings squeaks by Gillette, 3-2Centennial Ice Garden Sat, Dec 08, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Billings Bulls and the Gillette Wild was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Billings emerged with a 3-2 win. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jarrett Stark's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Stark had two goals and one assist to lead the Bulls. Stark scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:00 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Billings had taken the advantage when Gillette's Tj Mcminn got sent off for holding. Christopher Timm provided the assist. Stark's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Billings with 11:36 left in the third period. Stephen Thompson picked up the assist. Billings also got a goal from John Vant as well. In addition, Billings received assists from Adam Wikingsson, who had one. The Wild did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Gillette puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. The Wild were helped by Darren Banks, who had one goal. Banks scored 7:16 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Alex King provided the assist. Tyler Cavan also scored for Gillette. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Adam Pecht and Taylor Motsinger, who each chipped in one. Nic Wackerly made 22 saves for the Bulls on 24 shots. Billings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Vittori rejected 24 shots on goal for Gillette. The Wild incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
