Helena downs Great Falls, 5-0

Kyle Baker had one point to lead the Helena Bighorns to a 5-0 victory over the Great Falls Americans.

Helena forced Great Falls' goalies to work without much rest, firing 43 shots and forcing 38 saves. Evan Hauser made 23 stops and Erik Powell made 15. The Bighorns stifled the Americans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Helena could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Bighorns put an average of 7.9 pucks into the net per game.

Damon Hanson also scored for Helena. In addition, Helena received assists from Matt Mohar, who had two and Theo Campe, Christian Axelson, Devin Smith, and Corbin Belling, who each chipped in one.

Great Falls managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The Americans ended up below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Great Falls was held below its usual level of production. The Americans average 2.7 goals per game.

Jett Salinas recorded 15 saves for Helena. The Bighorns incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Great Falls registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
