Billings outlasts Great Falls, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Billings Bulls escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Great Falls Americans.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Reed Kaiser secured the win for Billings with a goal in the second period.

The Bulls got the win with help from a great game by Jarrett Stark, who had one goal and two assists. Stark scored 4:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Billings. Connor Hayden provided the assist.

Billings' penalty kill excelled, as the Bulls gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

The Billings penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game the Bulls had been spending in the box.

Billings additionally got points from Adam Wikingsson, who also had one goal and one assist. John Vant also scored for Billings. More assists for Billings came via Nick Rizzo, who had two.

Great Falls racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Americans surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game.

Great Falls was helped by Craig Bufford, who registered one goal. Bufford scored 13:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Lucas Lomax picked up the assist. Great Falls also got a goal from Dylan Garton as well. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Erik Gatson and Matt Douglas, who each chipped in one.

Billings registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
