The Gillette Wild tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Yellowstone Quake would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Yellowstone took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Gillette storm back on a Moco Willis goal 14:21 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Quake were led by Sam Basich, who had one goal. Basich scored 13:10 into the third period to make the score Yellowstone. Michael Berens picked up the assist. Yellowstone excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Quake kept the Wild's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Vittori made 36 saves on 39 shots. Yellowstone additionally got points from George Splichal, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Yellowstone also got a goal from Mitchell Fehd as well. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Anthony Leong, Chris Andre, and Josh Neumann, who contributed one a piece. Gillette did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Wild average 4.7 goals per game. Gillette forced Yellowstone goalie Trevor Zangs to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Wild were led by Taylor Motsinger, who grabbed one goal and one assist.
