Jett Salinas recorded a shutout against the Great Falls Americans as the Helena Bighorns picked up a 7-0 win. Helena got the win thanks to a great game by Damon Hanson, who had two goals and one assist. Hanson scored the first of his two goals at 3:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Logan Hawgood picked up the assist. Hanson's next tally made the score 7-0 Helena with 2:16 left in the third period. The Bighorns had gotten the advantage when Great Falls' John Bedbury was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Brandon Rumble assisted on the tally. Helena's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Great Falls power plays. The Bighorns forced the Americans goalie Evan Hauser to work between the pipes, taking 61 shots. Helena also got points from Theo Campe, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Helena included Ben Henne, who had two and Kyle Baker and Corbin Belling, who each put in one. In addition, Helena received assists from Christian Axelson, who had two and Dylan Webster, Devin Smith, John Petersson, Nick Okada, and Kevin Choi, who each chipped in one. Great Falls could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Americans put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Great Falls struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Helena to score three power play goals on five chances. Salinas rejected 30 shots on goal for the Bighorns. Helena ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Hauser recorded 54 saves for the Americans. Great Falls ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
