Splichal's goals lift Yellowstone to 6-3 victory over BozemanHaynes Pavillion Fri, Nov 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Yellowstone Quake relied on the scoring touch of George Splichal, who netted four goals, to beat the Bozeman Icedogs, 6-3. Splichal got on the scoresheet 7:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:03 into the first, at 8:51 into the second, and at 3:20 into the third.Yellowstone kept Bozeman's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jude Hall made 35 saves on 41 shots. Yellowstone also got points from Brandon Busse, who also had one goal and one assist. Yellowstone also got a goal from Sam Basich as well. More assists for Yellowstone came via Anthony Leong, Colin Tittle, and James Pyle, who contributed one a piece and Michael Berens and Chris Andre, who each chipped in three. The Icedogs were led by Ben Henry, who finished with two goals and one assist. Henry scored the first of his two goals at 15:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Yellowstone. Trent Carter provided the assist. Henry's next tally made the score 3-3 with 29 seconds left in the second period. Jason Henry assisted on the tally. Bozeman additionally got points from Henry, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Michael Kurfess, who had two. The Quake's Trevor Zangs stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Yellowstone incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bozeman incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
