Yellowstone erases deficit to stun Great Falls, 5-4Great Falls Iceplex Fri, Nov 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Great Falls Americans could not hold down the Yellowstone Quake, and Quake erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 5-4 win. Yellowstone never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Quake trailed 4-2 after a goal by Great Falls' Daniil Kulikov at 12:31 in the second period. Yellowstone tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by James Pyle at 11:00 in the third period. The Quake scored the game winner on the power play at 19:24 in the third period on a goal by Pyle. Yellowstone stifled the Americans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Great Falls was unable to stop the Quake from sending pucks towards the net, and Yellowstone eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. The Quake were led by Michael Berens, who finished with three goals and one assist. Yellowstone also got points from Brandon Busse, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Sam Basich, who had one, Jimmy Tich, who had three, and Tanner Fricke and George Splichal, who each chipped in two. Great Falls also got a goal from Nate Bastian as well. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Jakub Cmolik, who had two and Billy Grillo, Lucas Stover, and Connor Barta, who contributed one a piece. Yellowstone's Sean Flannigan stopped 19 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Quake totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Evan Hauser rejected 32 shots on goal for the Americans. Great Falls totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play.
