Missoula erases deficit to stun Great Falls, 4-3Glacier Ice Rink Fri, Nov 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Great Falls Americans could not hold down the Missoula Maulers, and Maulers erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win. Missoula never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Maulers trailed 2-0 after a goal by Great Falls' Jakub Cmolik at 15:06 in the first period. Missoula tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Paigg Maul at 11:35 in the second period. The Maulers scored the game winner at 3:23 in the third period on a goal by Maul. Maul was all over the ice for Missoula, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Maul scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Great Falls. A head contact penalty on Nate Bastian had put the Maulers on the power play. Dustin Pierce provided the assist. Maul's next tally on the power play made the score with 8:25 left in the second period. The Americans were unable to stop Missoula from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maulers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Missoula additionally got points from Pierce, who also registered one goal and one assist. Missoula also got a goal from Anders Nord as well. More assists for Missoula came via Niko Pukkila, Dylan Chase, Joey Sundgren, and Connor McNally, who each chipped in one. Max Kaercher also scored for Great Falls. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Doug Keller, Daniil Kulikov, and Connor Barta, who contributed one a piece. Cody Janzen recorded 19 saves for Missoula. The Maulers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Great Falls' Evan Hauser stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Americans incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
