Yellowstone downs Billings, 7-4

The Yellowstone Quake took home the win against the Billings Bulls, 7-4.

Billings was unable to stop Yellowstone from sending pucks towards the net, and the Quake eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Yellowstone was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages.

The Quake were helped by Michael Berens, who racked up two goals. Berens scored the first of his two goals at 14 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Yellowstone. George Splichal picked up the assist. Berens' next tally made the score 6-4 Yellowstone with 2:09 left in the third period. Splichal provided the assist. Yellowstone also got points from Brandon Busse, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jimmy Tich, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Sam Basich, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Bryan Standly, who also had one goal and one assist. Josh Neumann also scored for Yellowstone. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Chris Andre, who had two and Anthony Leong, Colin Tittle, James Pyle, Oli Jansson, and TJ Lozier, who each chipped in one.

The Bulls were often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Billings surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Bulls' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Billings gives up 2.5 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

The Bulls were led by Nik Nasby, who tallied three goals. Billings also got a goal from Reed Kaiser as well. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stark, who contributed one a piece and ryan picicci and Alex Herman, who each chipped in two.

JT Blum made 18 saves for Yellowstone on 22 shots. The Quake incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Billings' Matt Hultman stopped 28 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Bulls registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
