Early goals doom Bozeman, falls to Great Falls, 7-1

A four-goal first period deficit cost the Bozeman Icedogs, which could not recover and fell to the Great Falls Americans, 7-1.

Great Falls got the win thanks to a great game by Craig Bufford, who had one goal and four assists. Bufford scored 8:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Great Falls. Daniil Kulikov assisted on the tally.

The Americans' Erik Powell was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Powell managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.87 prior to the game.

Great Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Americans' offense rang up 47 shots on Bozeman's net. Great Falls surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Americans average 2.9 goals per contest.

Great Falls additionally got points from Kulikov, who also racked up four goals and two assists. Lucas Stover also scored for Great Falls. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Connor Mize, Robert Hubka, Matt Douglas, and Connor Barta, who each chipped in one.
