Andre leads Yellowstone over Bozeman, 5-2

Behind a great game by Chris Andre, who had two goals and one assist, the Yellowstone Quake defeated the Bozeman Icedogs, 5-2.

Andre's tallies came at 1:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone and 12:47 into the third to make the score 2-2.

Yellowstone forced Bozeman goalie John Slavic to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Yellowstone additionally got points from Michael Berens, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Jimmy Tich, who also had one goal and one assist, and Sam Basich, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from George Splichal, who had one and Orri Haman, who had three.

The Icedogs managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Bozeman ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Icedogs were helped by Brett Barezewski, who racked up one goal. Barezewski scored on the power play 13:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A hooking penalty on Berens had put Bozeman on the power play. Tristen Franzen picked up the assist. Bozeman also got a goal from Joe Dixon as well. More assists for Bozeman came via Garrett Bryan and Jesse Game, who each chipped in one.

JT Blum recorded 19 saves for the Quake. Yellowstone incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icedogs' Slavic stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Bozeman registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
