Billings' Bing deadly on offense in 5-1 win against MissoulaCentennial Ice Garden Sat, Oct 27, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Billings Bulls relied on the scoring touch of Luke Bing, who netted two goals, to beat the Missoula Maulers, 5-1. Bing found the back of the net 9:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 10:19 into the first to make the score 2-1 Billings.Billings was led by goalie Nic Wackerly, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Wackerly managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.26 prior to the game. The Bulls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Billings forced Missoula goalie Mckinlee Baum to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Bulls outdid their season average for goals scored. Billings has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Bulls were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 22 penalty minutes. Others who scored for Billings included Adam Wikingsson, who had one and Jarrett Stark, who had two. In addition, Billings received assists from John Vant, Christopher Timm, and Nik Nasby, who contributed one a piece and Nick Rizzo and Alex Herman, who each chipped in two. The Maulers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 12 minors and one major for 59 minutes in penalty time. Missoula surpassed its season average of 30.0 penalty minutes per game.
