Darren Banks tallied one point to lead the Gillette Wild to a 2-1 victory over the Billings Bulls. Gillette forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Wild surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Gillette's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Billings power plays. The Wild forced Billings goalie Nic Wackerly to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Gillette also got a goal from Steve Patafio as well. In addition, Gillette received assists from Ronnie Wilshusen, Boris Knyazev, TJ McMinn, and Ethan Hicks, who each chipped in one. The Bulls stifled Gillette's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Billings was led by Dexter Nealy, who scored the team's only goal. Nealy scored 16:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kyle Blankenship assisted on the tally. Brandon Kruckenberg made 22 saves for the Wild on 23 shots. Gillette registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. Wackerly rejected 31 shots on goal for the Bulls. Billings ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major.
