Gillette downs Great Falls, 4-1

Steve Patafio finished with one point to lead the Gillette Wild to a 4-1 victory over the Great Falls Americans.

Gillette racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game the Wild had been spending in the box. Gillette's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Great Falls power plays. The Wild forced Great Falls goalie Evan Hauser to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Gillette also got points from Taylor Motsinger, who also registered one goal and one assist. Gillette also got a goal from Tyler Cavan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Darren Banks, who had two and Ronnie Wilshusen, Matt Kramer, and Ethan Hicks, who contributed one a piece.

The Americans excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Great Falls did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Americans average 3.2 goals per game.

Great Falls was led by Jakub Cmolik, who scored the team's only goal. Cmolik scored 10:57 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Gillette. Billy Grillo picked up the assist.

Brandon Kruckenberg took the win and made 22 saves before being replaced by Sean Kelley who made one save. Hauser recorded 36 saves for the Americans. Great Falls incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
