Tich lifts Yellowstone over Billings, 5-1

Jimmy Tich had two goals to lead Yellowstone to a 5-1 victory over Billings.

Tich's tallies came at 6:10 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Yellowstone and 14:49 into the second to make the score 3-1 Yellowstone.

Yellowstone was led by goalie JT Blum, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Blum managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.07 prior to the game.

Yellowstone also got points from Brandon Busse, who also finished with one goal and one assist. George Splichal also scored for Yellowstone. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Anthony Leong, Cameron Hardiek, and Josh Neumann, who each chipped in one and Tanner Fricke and Michael Berens, who contributed two a piece.

Billings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Yellowstone power plays.

Billings was led by Luke Bing, who scored the team's only goal. Bing scored on the power play 14:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Yellowstone. Billings had gained a power play chance when Taylor Linder was whistled for interference. Adam Wikingsson picked up the assist.

Yellowstone incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Nic Wackerly made 25 saves for Billings on 30 shots. Billings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
