Campbellford uses shootout to best Napanee, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Campbellford Rebels defeated the Napanee Raiders in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Napanee's shootout goal was scored by Evan Brown. Campbellford's other shootout goal was scored by Nick Orton.

The Rebels saw a four-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Campbellford made the score 4-0 on a goal by Ryan Crowley at 19:22 in the first period. The Raiders evened things up at 4-4 on a goal by Bud Norris at 11:21 in the third period.

The Rebels stifled Napanee's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Campbellford forced the Raiders goalie James Hanley to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots.

The Rebels were helped by Hunter Fargey, who tallied one goal and one assist. Fargey scored on the power play 2:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Campbellford had gotten the advantage when Napanee's Luke Emmons was sent off for slashing. jeremy dorghty provided the assist. Campbellford also got points from Crowley, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Campbellford also got a goal from Tim Pandachuck as well. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Orton, Mitch Gibson, Dylan Baxter, Kenny Turcotte, and Andrew Revell, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Mahoney made 35 saves on 39 shots.

Napanee was led by Adam Shulist, who had one goal and one assist. Shulist scored 49 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-2 Campbellford. Colin Childerhose assisted on the tally. Brown also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Joel Ferland, who had two and Chris Doyle and Blade Grigg, who contributed one a piece.

Campbellford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Raiders' Hanley stopped 50 shots out of the 54 that he faced. Napanee incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
