Lawrence's hat trick boosts Port Hope over Napanee, 6-4Strathcona Paper Tue, Jan 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders could not stop the Port Hope Panthers' Dalton Lawrence, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-4 win. Lawrence's first goal came 4:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:12 into the third and at 19:51 into the third.Port Hope forced Raiders' goalies to work all game long, taking 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Kyle Copeland made 36 stops and Mike Brogee made eight. Others who scored for Port Hope included Connor Lowry, who had one and Chris Jones, who had two. More assists for Port Hope came via Hayden Verge, Josh Fagan, Ryan Wilkinson, and Brandon Yorke, who contributed one a piece and Jacob Spicer and Dan Lagrois, who each chipped in two. Napanee managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Raiders wound up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Napanee's offense rang up 34 shots on the Panthers' net. The Raiders were helped by Alex Kwok, who finished with one goal. Kwok scored 10:29 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Napanee. Jesse Lloyd provided the assist. Napanee also got a goal from Joel Ferland as well. In addition, Napanee received assists from Luke Emmons, Matt Horton, Evan Brown, and Donny Emmons, who contributed one a piece. Wayne Fryer made 30 saves for Port Hope on 34 shots. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Napanee registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
