Picton beats Deseronto 13-0 as Bolton gets hat trick

A hat trick by Cole Bolton was the highlight in Pirates' 13-0 win against the Deseronto Storm.

Bolton's first goal came 6:06 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:47 into the second and at 15:46 into the third.

The Picton Pirates made Deseronto's netminders to work without much rest, ripping 101 shots and forcing 88 saves. Ben Elliot made 73 stops and amos lloyd made 15. Picton stifled the Storm's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Pirates featured an improved defense during the game. Picton gives up 2.1 goals on average per game. The Pirates found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Picton averages 6.1 goals per contest.

Picton also got points from Jacob Panetta, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Levi George, who also had one goal and five assists, Evan Greer, who also registered one goal and two assists, Mitchell Smith, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Brian Bunnett, who also finished with three goals and three assists, and Tyler Kearns, who also had two goals and one assist. Kenny Murduff also scored for Picton. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Geoff Cleminson, who had two and Brandon Peever, Jack Davison, Jeff Kingdon, and Riley McGuire, who contributed one a piece.

Deseronto did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Storm put an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game.

Josh Lasher (APM) made 17 saves for the Pirates on 17 shots. Picton totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Team's Cleminson and Kearns were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Deseronto totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Storm ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kirby Maracle was ejected from the game.
