Amherstview beats Deseronto 2-0 as Paquette gains shutout

The Amherstview Jets used a sparkling performance by Troy Paquette to take down the Deseronto Storm, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Amherstview's 2-0 shutout victory.

The Jets were paced by Brett Yake, who finished with one goal. Yake scored 18:05 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Amherstview.

Amherstview stifled Deseronto's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jets were held below their usual level of production. Amherstview puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Jets kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Elliot made 64 saves on 66 shots.

Amherstview also got a goal from Sam Paxton as well.

Deseronto put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Amherstview to score on any of its three power plays. The Storm did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Deseronto averages 2.1 goals per game.
