Amherstview penalty kill dominates in 6-3 defeat of Napanee

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Amherstview Jets were able to defeat the Napanee Raiders, 6-3.

Amherstview was sparked by Brody Taylor, who had one goal and one assist. Taylor scored 17:56 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Amherstview. Nic Pascoal assisted on the tally.

The Jets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Napanee power plays. Amherstview's offense rang up 38 shots on Napanee's net.

Amherstview additionally got points from Isaac Desousa, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Pascoal, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cody jodion also scored for Amherstview. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Cassidy Bruni, who had two and Jesse Stone, Brett Yake, Ryan Fletcher, Brandon Gilmour, and Jake Hulton, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders kept the Jets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Troy Paquette made 37 saves on 40 shots.

Napanee was helped by Evan Brown, who tallied one goal. Brown scored 5:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bud Norris provided the assist. Napanee also got points from Troy Wylie, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Napanee also got a goal from Jesse Lloyd as well. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Blade Grigg, who had one and Donny Emmons, who had two.

Amherstview incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mike Brogee rejected 32 shots on goal for the Raiders. Napanee incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
