Lagrois' hat trick boosts Port Hope over Amherstview, 6-4

The Amherstview Jets could not stop the Port Hope Panthers' Dan Lagrois, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-4 win.

Lagrois' first goal came 48 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 14:57 into the second and at 18:36 into the third.

Port Hope excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Panthers forced Amherstview goalie James DAndrea to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Port Hope also got points from Jacob Spicer, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brad Heykoop, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ryan DeGuerre also scored for Port Hope. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Shawn Mackie, who had two and Kyle Sullivan, Ryan Hickey, Keifer Macinnis, and Calibe Oliver, who each chipped in one.

The Jets' offense rang up 35 shots on Port Hope's net.

Amherstview was led by Cody Stapley, who finished with two goals. Stapley scored the first of his two goals at 5:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jake Hulton provided the assist. Stapley's next tally made the score 2-2 with 11:23 left in the second period. Hulton assisted on the tally. Amherstview additionally got points from Nic Pascoal, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Amherstview also got a goal from Brody Taylor as well. More assists for Amherstview came via Brandon Gilmour and Liam Vanburen, who contributed one a piece.

Wayne Fryer made 31 saves for the Panthers on 35 shots. Port Hope incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Panthers, Justin Adam (APM) was ejected from the game. DAndrea recorded 25 saves for the Jets. Amherstview incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
