Deseronto uses early goal to top Napanee, 3-1Deseronto & District CC Fri, Dec 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Deseronto Storm beat the Napanee Raiders, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Conrad Charlton provided Deseronto with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:03 into the the first period. Riley Muise provided the assist.Napanee was stymied by the Storm netminder Ben Elliot, who stopped 55 shots during the victory. Elliot managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 6.5 prior to the game. Deseronto was led by Jesse Burtch, who racked up one goal. Burtch scored 15:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Deseronto. Nick ferguson assisted on the tally. The Raiders were unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Deseronto eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Deseronto also got a goal from Jared Boomhower as well. More assists for Deseronto came via Corey Prince, who had one. Napanee did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.
