Cleminson nets hat trick, leads Picton to 10-0 win over DeserontoDeseronto & District CC Fri, Dec 07, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Geoff Cleminson lifted the Picton Pirates to a 10-0 victory with a hat trick against the Deseronto Storm. Cleminson notched his first tally 7:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:48 into the first and at 8:24 into the second.Deseronto was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Picton was able to score four times while on the power play. The Pirates excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Picton was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Pirates allow 2.2 goals per game. Picton kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Dan Corrigan made 72 saves on 82 shots. The Pirates surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Picton averages 5.2 goals per game. Picton also got points from Evan Greer, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Jeremiah Doherty, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Picton included Mitchell Smith, who had three and Nolan Powers and Brad Jacklin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Picton received assists from Ryan Sizer, who had three, Jack Davison, Riley Main, Kenny Murduff, and Jeff Kingdon, who each chipped in one, and Brandon Peever, Jacob Panetta, and Coleman Foisy, who contributed two a piece. Deseronto did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Storm average 2.1 goals per game. The Pirates' Andrew Pearson stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Picton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Deseronto incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
