Port Hope's Lagrois deadly on offense in 7-2 win against Deseronto

Dan Lagrois was all over the ice for the Port Hope Panthers, as he tallied two goals in Port Hope's 7-2 win over the Deseronto Storm.

Lagrois' tallies came at 2:20 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Port Hope and 7:33 into the second to make the score 2-0 Port Hope.

The Panthers kept Deseronto's goalie busy throughout the game, and Dan Corrigan made 73 saves on 80 shots. Port Hope surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Panthers average 4.4 goals per contest.

Port Hope additionally got points from mitch murphy, who also had one goal and one assist and Kyle Sullivan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brad Heykoop also scored for Port Hope. More assists for Port Hope came via chris roy, Ryan Wilkinson, and Shawn Mackie, who contributed one a piece and Jacob Spicer, Dalton Lawrence, Ryan Hickey, and Josh Fagan, who each chipped in two.

The the Storm penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and one major for 55 minutes in penalty time. Deseronto surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Port Hope was unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Deseronto eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Storm were helped by Brett Maracle, who grabbed one goal. Maracle scored short handed 4:32 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Port Hope. Deseronto found itself down a man on Riley Muise's inciting an opponent. Deseronto also got a goal from Chandler Mcdougall as well. In addition, Deseronto received assists from Jesse Burtch and Carson Nelles, who contributed one a piece.

The Panthers' Justin Urquhart stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Port Hope incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Storm registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Deseronto ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitchell Thompson was ejected from the game.
