Wood leads Picton to shutout victory over Amherstview

Adam Wood made 39 saves to complete the shutout and led the Picton Pirates to a 6-0 win against the Amherstview Jets.

Picton was led by Ryan Sizer, who racked up one goal and one assist. Sizer scored 11:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Picton. Mitchell Smith picked up the assist.

The Pirates' defensive effort looked to be improved. Picton allows 2.4 goals per game. The Pirates' offense rang up 49 shots on Amherstview's net.

Picton additionally got points from Jack Davison, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Smith, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Levi George also scored for Picton. More assists for Picton came via Steven Csanyi, Brandon Peever, Jacob Panetta, and Riley McGuire, who each chipped in one.

The Jets' offense operated below they season average. Amherstview puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Jets' offense rang up 39 shots on Picton's net.
