Brogee stymies Deseronto, Napanee wins 4-1

Mike Brogee stood on his head and made 34 saves to lead the Napanee Raiders to a 4-1 victory over the Deseronto Storm.

Deseronto's power play was ineffective against Napanee's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Raiders were sparked by Jayden Adams, who registered one goal. Adams scored 18:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Napanee. Alex Kwok picked up the assist.

Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Raiders forced the Storm goalie Dan Corrigan to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Napanee additionally got points from Chris Doyle, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Luke Emmons, who also had one goal and one assist, and Donny Emmons, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Andre Frappier, Eric Dwyer, and Josh Murphy APM, who each chipped in one.

Deseronto put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Napanee to score on any of its three power plays. The Storm's offense rang up 35 shots on the Raiders' net.

Deseronto was led by Jordan Cannons, who scored the team's only goal. Cannons scored 5:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Deseronto. Shanye Winner provided the assist.

Napanee incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Corrigan recorded 39 saves for the Storm. Deseronto incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Storm ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Corey Prince was ejected from the game.
