Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Napanee Raiders defeated the Amherstview Jets in a shootout 6-5 (3-2 SO). The shootout featured 20 attempts between both teams. Amherstview got shootout goals from Ryan Fletcher and Brett Elder. Napanee also got shootout goals from Zach Knapp-Hermer and Dylan Leduc.In the losing effort, the Jets were led by Cassidy Bruni, who registered two goals. Bruni scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:51 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Amherstview. Amherstview had gained a power play chance when Chris Doyle was whistled for roughing. Dan Chadwick provided the assist. Bruni's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 Napanee with 2:52 left in the second period. The Jets had taken the advantage when the Raiders' Knapp-Hermer got sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Mitchell Murphy assisted on the tally. In the losing effort, Amherstview was sparked by Bruni, who tallied two goals. Napanee's offense rang up 48 shots on the Jets' net. The Raiders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Napanee got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Napanee additionally got points from Eric Dwyer, who also had one goal and one assist and Joel Ferland, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Andre Frappier also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Leduc, who had one. The Raiders were unable to stop Amherstview from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jets eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Amherstview also got points from Liam Vanburen, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Amherstview also got a goal from Brody Taylor as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Chandler McDougall, Jesse Stone, Kyle Pengelly, and Rhys Webster, who each chipped in one. Kyle Copeland rejected 27 shots on goal for Napanee. The Raiders registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Troy Paquette made 42 saves for Amherstview on 47 shots. The Jets incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
