Hawkesbury downs Gloucester in overtime, 2-1 (OT)Earl Armstrong Arena Sun, Mar 10, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Trent Durocher gave the Hawkesbury Hawks a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Gloucester Rangers when he scored 1:31 into the extra period. Hawkesbury was led by goalie Nicholas Newport, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. Newport managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.44 prior to the game. The Hawks were sparked by Durocher, who tallied one goal. Tristen Elie also scored for Hawkesbury. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Ross Kovacs, who had two and Travis Meyer and Ryan Kruss, who each chipped in one. Gloucester's offense rang up 42 shots on Hawkesbury's net. The Rangers were led by Patrick White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored on the power play 4:21 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Gloucester had gained a power play chance when Kovacs was whistled for holding. Shane Topf assisted on the tally. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cedric Hansen recorded 24 saves for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
