Todd's hat trick boosts Brockville over Hawkesbury, 4-2

The Hawkesbury Hawks could not stop the Brockville Braves' Zach Todd, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-2 win.

Todd got on the scoresheet 6:05 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:15 into the second and at 19:59 into the third.

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Brockville stifled Hawkesbury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Braves kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Carmine Guerriero made 32 saves on 36 shots. The defensemen of Brockville were also effective in Hawkesbury's zone, and came away with three goals.

Brockville also got points from David Ferreira, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Owen Gill, Ben Blasko, and Brandon Cole, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks forced the Braves goalie Matthew Jenkins to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Hawkesbury was led by Trent Durocher, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Durocher scored 12:09 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. Travis Meyer picked up the assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Roman Ammirato as well. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from William Plamondon, who had one.

Brockville's Jenkins stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Braves incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
