Brockville rips Kanata, 5-1Kanata Recreational Complex Tue, Mar 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kanata Stallions had trouble finding ways to stop the Brockville Braves, which beat Stallions, 5-1. Brockville was paced by Zach Todd, who had one goal. Todd scored 13:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brockville. Aaron Hickie provided the assist. The Braves made Kanata's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Brandon Lane made nine stops and Gunner Rivers made 27. Brockville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kanata power plays. The Braves' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Brockville additionally got points from Ben Blasko, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Nathan Todd, who also registered one goal and one assist. David Ferreira also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via Shane Riddell, Chris Roll, Cory Wilson, and Griffen Molino, who each chipped in one. The Stallions excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Kanata was held below its usual level of production. The Stallions put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Kanata also got a goal from Braedan Moffatt as well. Andrew Pikul made 19 saves for Brockville on 20 shots. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kanata incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
