The Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Kemptville 73s were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Pembroke made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-4.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ben Dalpe secured the win for the Lumber Kings with a goal in the second period.

Pembroke pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Lumber Kings were led by Cody Trowell, who finished with one goal and one assist. Trowell scored 18:40 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Pembroke. Ryan Erickson assisted on the tally.

Pembroke stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lumber Kings forced the 73s goalie Billy Cooper to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Pembroke outdid its season average for goals scored. The Lumber Kings have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Pembroke also got points from Brendan Mcguire, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Dalpe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Owen McDade, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Keegan Harper, who also registered one goal and one assist. Patrice Wren also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Derek Diaz, Stephen Hrehoriak, Jordan Boucher-Gould, Emilio Audi, and Jordan Larson, who contributed one a piece.

The Kemptville penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 12 minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The 73s surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Kemptville made Lumber Kings' goalies to work all game long, totaling 34 shots and forcing 30 saves. Darren Smith made 17 stops and Andy Munroe made 13.

The 73s were led by Hayden Hanson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hanson scored 10:15 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Pembroke. Jacob Smith picked up the assist. Kemptville additionally got points from Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kemptville also got a goal from Ben St Marseille as well. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Cole Allard, who had one and Junau St Germain and Mason Nowak, who contributed two a piece.

Pembroke registered three goals on 14 power play opportunities. Cooper recorded 38 saves for Kemptville. The 73s registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. For Kemptville, Derek Varrin and Stephen Cooney were ejected from the contest.
