The Nepean Raiders relied on the scoring touch of Kenneth Neil, who netted two goals, to beat the Smiths Falls Bears, 5-2.

Neil found the back of the net 8:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean and again while on the power play 12:07 into the second to make the score 3-1 Nepean.

Nepean's penalty kill excelled, as the Raiders gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

The Nepean penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Raiders had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Nepean stifled Smiths Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Nepean additionally got points from Richard Therrien, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Dalen Hedges, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Phil Nasca, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Philippe Drouin, who had two and Cory Durocher, Brandon Watt, Mitchell Herlihey, Steven Johnston, and Michael Vered, who each chipped in one.

The Bears racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game Smiths Falls had been spending in the box. The Raiders were unable to stop the Bears from sending pucks towards the net, and Smiths Falls eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

The Bears were led by Jeffrey Carroll, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Carroll scored short handed 11:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nepean. Smiths Falls was on a disadvantage when Michael Buonincontri went off the ice for elbowing. Connor McLaren assisted on the tally. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Brett Costello as well. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Yannick Crete, who had one.

Matt Zawadzki rejected 34 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For Nepean, Brandon Belding was ejected from the game. Patrick Martin recorded 25 saves for the Bears. Smiths Falls ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan McCaughan was ejected from the game.
