Ottawa boosted by Savard-Belanger's play in net, beats Nepean 3-1Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Feb 24, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Alexandre Savard-Belanger stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 3-1 victory over the Nepean Raiders. Ottawa was paced by Eric Clitsome, who tallied one goal and one assist. Clitsome scored on the power play 11:06 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. The Senators had gotten the advantage when Nepean's Stephan Beauvais was sent off for slashing. Greg Jansz provided the assist. Ottawa's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Nepean power plays. Ottawa also got points from Michael Evelyn, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ottawa also got a goal from Ryan Collins as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Chad Millett, who had one and Ben Robillard, who had two. The Raiders' offense operated below they season average. Matt Zawadzki made 27 saves for the Raiders on 29 shots. Nepean incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
