Huge game by Larson boosts Pembroke over Ottawa, 6-3Pembroke Memorial Center Sun, Feb 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings' Jordan Larson had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators. Larson got on the board by slotting home a goal 11:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. Ben Dalpe provided the assist. Larson dished an assist on Dalpe's goal that made the score 4-1 Pembroke at 2:46 into the third period. He added another helper on Keegan Harper's goal that made the score 5-3 Pembroke at 12:46 into the third period.Pembroke forced Ottawa's goalies to work all game long, ripping 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Charlie Millen made 35 stops and Alexandre Savard-Belanger made one. The Lumber Kings surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Pembroke averages 3.8 goals per contest. Pembroke also got points from Dalpe, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Liam Biard, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Emilio Audi as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Carl Greco, Charlie Connell, Stephen Hrehoriak, Jordan Boucher-Gould, Patrice Wren, and Timmy Moore, who contributed one a piece. The Lumber Kings were unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Senators were led by Ben Robillard, who had one goal and one assist. Robillard scored on the power play 1:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Ottawa had gotten the advantage when Pembroke's Sam Gleason was sent off for tripping. Hunter Racine assisted on the tally. Cameron Roth also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Ryan Collins, who had two and Justin Charbonneau and Eric Witzel, who each chipped in one. The Lumber Kings' Darren Smith stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Pembroke totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 3-for-7 on the power play. The Lumber Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brendan Mcguire was ejected from the game. The Senators incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
