Brockville survives Kemptville comeback, wins 4-3

The Brockville Braves survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kemptville 73s on the way to a 4-3 win.

Brockville made the score 3-1 on a goal by Hayden Hulton at 14:38 in the second period, and Kemptville got as close as 3-2 when Jesse Blais scored 59 seconds into the third period.

Anthony Pino had a great game for the Braves, netting two goals. Pino found the back of the net 5:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Brockville and again while on the power play 9:38 into the third to make the score 4-3 Brockville.

Brockville also got a goal from Chris Roll as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Shane Riddell, who had two, Griffen Molino, who had three, and Ben Blasko and David Ferreira, who contributed one a piece.

The 73s were helped by Matt Tugnutt, who finished with one goal. Tugnutt scored on the power play 7:50 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Kemptville had taken the advantage when Brockville's Ryan Walter got sent off for roughing. Blais assisted on the tally. Kemptville additionally got points from Blais, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jacob Smith also scored for Kemptville. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Cole Allard, Stephen Cooney, Hayden Hanson, and Patrick Crampton, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Jenkins recorded 26 saves for the Braves. Brockville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The 73s' Jacob Tugnutt stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Kemptville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Smith was ejected from the game.
